Thanksgiving Perfection
Happy Thanksgiving weekend to all our 'Perfectionists'! We wish for all of you to have a beautiful weekend spending time with the ones you love, feasting on delicious food and enjoying your favourite wine.
The first long weekend in fall can end up being quite hectic, especially if you have multiple family engagements. Three turkey dinners in some instances can seem excessive, but the true value of Thanksgiving is making the time to create new memories and express gratitude for those you love. Be sure to find moments of peace and happiness in all the craziness.
The biggest complaint we always hear about the holiday season is the amount of additional house cleaning that is forced upon us. The added dishes, the need to excessively vacuum, wash floors, dust the house, clean the bathrooms and keep up overall appearances. Dont forget the grocery shopping! Who has time to do all of this after a long work week? The fact is, it is okay to admit you might need a little help getting your house cleaning completed by a contractor. You are busy at the holiday season, so remember, we are always here to help you with the house cleaning.
Making dinner for a large group of people can be hard work and quite stressful. Here are some tips to help your beautiful feast become a huge success!
Potluck - Plan ahead and ask everyone to bring one dish, this is an excellent way to keep your house clean and free of an excessive amount of dishes. Your guests will be more than happy to bring a side dish. Just throw the turkey in and enjoy the day!
Grocery Shop ASAP - Make a list and double check it. Chances are, if you head to the store at 3pm on Sunday for butter, it will be beyond busy. Save you time and be prepared.
Get Your Housekeeping Done the Day Before - Get the whole family to pitch in (or call us) and get the house clean the night before! Even if you have to stay up an hour later to get it done, you'll be relieved when you wake up in the morning and the kitchen is clean, it will almost feel like magic fairies came in while you were sound asleep.
Invite Someone Over Early to Help - Having a friend or family member come over early to help keep you organized in the kitchen and on schedule will make the cooking feel less like work, and more like quality time.
Have an Early Dinner - If you schedule dinner for 4pm-5pm; this will leave you room for an unexpected hiccup, such as the turkey not being cooked, a late guest or even just a few moments to clean before you eat. This gives you the opportunity to have time after dinner to visit, get organized and enjoy your company.
